Canned Goods
Machinery

The canned fruit & vegetable processing industry processes fresh fruit and vegetables into food products packaged in jars, cans and other packaging. It utilizes other ingredients like seasoning, salt, sugar, preservatives, colorings etc. and blends them with the fresh fruit and vegetables to make final consumer food products.  From pickles and relishes, to tomato based sauces, jams, and jellies, these products can be tough on the machinery that produces and packages them.  That’s why manufacturers look to Altra Industrial Motion to provide reliable power transmission products for their machines.  With products designed to help prevent microbial contamination and bacterial growth in highly caustic washdown environments, the brands of Altra continue to improve product performance by developing innovative features and designs to meet changing market demands for canned fruit and vegetable processors.

These units offer extremely fast motor-reducer assembly and feature a completely self-aligning coupling that eliminates the need for a slot in the flange. Developed for food processing applications, the QC700 Series is the first washdown-friendly NEMA coupling-mount speed reducer in its class.

Elimination of alignment hole prevents debris and bacteria buildup

18% shorter than standard coupling mounted reducers

Optional stainless steel shafts

Available with PosiVent® option

Available with Bost-Kleen™ and Stainless Bost-Kleen™ coatings

Machined for vibration-free performance at speeds up to 6500 FPM. Stock sheaves have capacities ranging from 1/2" to 108". Models offered in four types for use in a variety of packaging applications.

These metal disc couplings consist of two hubs, a spacer and two high strength carbon or stainless steel flexible discs. Units feature zero backlash, require no maintenance and are easily interchangeable. Modified and special designs are commonly supplied to meet specific application conditions. Available in carbon steel, stainless steel, or with corrosion resistant coatings. Close couple, spacer and floating shaft designs are also available.

This clutch has the widest torque range in its class: 100 to 1,000 in. lbs., and will limit transmitted torque no matter if the overload jam is once a year or many times per day. The cost-effective design with fewer components combined with a corrosion resistant hard-anodized housing provide years of dependable service. Other features include a fully automatic reset and bi-directional single position clutch.

The PosiVent® features a unique pressure equalization system designed to keep water, washdown solution and other contaminants out of gearboxes in food processing applications. With this patent-pending design, gearbox failure associated with contaminants such as bakery dust entering and breaking down lubricants and causing premature failure is prevented.

Sure-Flex is a TB Wood's original! Sure-Flex Couplings utilize a rubber (EPDM or Neoprene) or Hytrel™ thermoplastic flex element (sleeve) to transmit torque and accommodate shaft misalignments. Sure-Flex couplings have exceptional torsional flexibility, and the 4-way flexing action absorbs virtually all types of shock, vibration, misalignment, and end float. Sure-flex couplings are an excellent choice when low cost, high flexibility, vibration damping, and easy installation are primary concerns.

High Misalignment ratings

No maintenance/lubrication

Part-for-Part interchangeable with industry standard design

In-stock versatile spacer design can accommodate many configurations with few parts

These units combine the best of both chain and belt drives, providing positive power transmission and accurate speeds while requiring little maintenance. Load capacities scale up to 1200 HP at 1750 RPM.

Boston Gear's 800 Series contains a focused selection of compact, heavy duty helical gear drives that offer long-life performance and simplified maintenance. The 800 Series provides a functional interchange for SEW Eurodrive and other European manufacturers' helical gear drives, making it uniquely practical for replacement applications.

The SR cable pull switch is specially designed to provide personnel with ready access to a machine stop switch up to 245 feet away by simply pulling on the cable. This safety switch is ideal for use along conveyors or on the perimeter of large processing machinery. The machine will stop when the cable is pulled or when the cable breaks. The machine cannot start until the switch is reset.

Warner Electric’s Unimodule Clutch/Brake modules provide the ultimate in application versatility, from rapid cycling and accurate positioning, to soft controlled starts and stops. These modules come completely pre-assembled, pre-aligned, and pre-burnished at the factory for maximum performance right out of the box.
